Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Air Freight and LTL Account Executive to join our Client's team reporting jointly to the President & Chief Commercial Officer and the Chief Operating Officer. You will be responsible for the development and signing of profitable new business, maintaining and growing current accounts and generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing proposal preparation and presentation(s), start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale. Primarily looking for LTL and Airfreight business to and from the major gateways of DFW Airport (Dallas) and IAH Airport (Houston). Also looking to eventually open and manage a small operation in SAT (San Antonio).
Responsibilities:
As the Account Executive you will expand the account base, increase revenues and improve profitability. You must have experience prospecting, cold calling and providing freight alternatives. You will plan, develop and execute sales strategies tailored to potential customers, and keep informed on competitive services and pricing.
A successful Account Executive will be expected to create customized solutions based on strategic considerations, and successfully communicate to our existing customers the differential advantages of the Company, resulting in unlimited partnerships and customer retention. Also follow a well defined Account Management plan.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess 3 - 5 years of industry related experience, preferably in expedited transportation or logistics. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
*Demonstrate the ability to successfully build relationships and influence key decision makers
*Manage customer relationships through creative problem solving
*Well organized with strong planning and follow up skills
*Effective internal influencing of operations and support staff
*Aggressive hunter sales mentality
*Excellent written and oral communication skills
*Polished electronic presentation skills
*Previous experience in freight forwarding is preferred. Knowledge of markets preferred
*Knowledge of Contact Management Programs (i.e. ACT, Goldmine and Sales Logix)
*Previous success with commission based incentive program
*Operations experience with Airfreight Forwarding
*Multimodal sales: LTL, Airfreight, Truckload, & Intermodal drayage
*Completed Sales Training Courses
